This sweet hobby donkey is the young boy Tommy´s companion in the popular children’s theatre play ‘When the Robbers came to Cardamom Town’ written by Thorbjørn Egner in 1955.
The Hobby Donkey was carefully designed to fit with the actor’s costume and onstage background colours. The donkey has an ear mechanism ensuring the actor can easily move the hobby donkey’s ears. Hence, Tommy can impress his friend Kamomilla with a little bit of hobby donkey magic. Our aim was to create a hobby donkey as a special toy, homemade with button eyes, which Tommy can be proud of.
